Jeffrey Nashan, Montana Watch Company owner and founder began his career in horology as a watchmaker specializing in the restoration of vintage timepieces.

He became particularly fascinated with the history and design of early American wrist and pocket watch manufacturing. When Nashan's interests went beyond simple restoration and into the areas of design and manufacture he founded The Montana Watch Company and began machining and building watches in small numbers in a studio environment.

In 2000, the Montana Watch Company participated in the Cody Wyoming, Western Design Conference. Overwhelmingly inspired by the skill and style of the craftsmen and artisans of the event, Nashan realized his niche would be in combining the art of fine hand engraving with early American horological design. That same year Nashan began collaborating with fine art engraver E.A. Lytle to create what is now an internationally recognized brand and style.

In 2002 the Montana Watch Company returned to the Western Design Conference to win the coveted "Best Artist Jewelry" award with the E.A. Lytle "colt" ensemble. Since then the company has expanded it's engraver base to include virtually every style of hand engraving from Western Single-Point to Bulino style wildlife scenes. In addition to being fine works of art, Montana Watch Company timepieces are built, and regulated in-house to the highest standards. The lifetime warranted and individually built-to-order timepieces are commissioned by some of the most significant collectors in the world. The Montana Watch Company follows a passion to create truly unique and distinctive timepieces inspired by the designs of the early American watchmaking and the art of fine hand engraving.
