Earl Walker never planned to be a woodworker. It just happened.

"When I was a kid, I used to make a lot of things."

Then, in high school, he and a friend bought a 23-foot Century mahogany boat with a hole in it.

"That was a real learning experience. Boats have a lot of screws."

"In college, if I needed a table I built one and anything else I needed."

A professional mountain-bike racer with a 10-year career, Earl figured he would work in some aspect of the bicycle industry. He moved to Colorado with that in mind. Before long, he found his friends' requests for his custom-built furniture were consuming all his free time.

"Everyone said 'you should do this for a living.' After a year of not listening to everyone, I decided to hear what they were saying and give it a try."

The business has expanded from furniture to include cabinets and custom-wood fabrication.
